South America Cruises

There are a number of cruise destinations in South America, many of which are very different from each other, with the main ones being as follows.

Brazil and the Amazon

Cruises often depart from Rio de Janeiro or Buenos Aires, and many of them venture up to a 1,000 miles along the Amazon River to the port of Manaus, which is the capital of the Amazon. As well as fly cruising, Cruise & Maritime Voyages and Fred Olsen Cruise lines usually each offer one departure each year from the UK, which would be for at least 35 nights.

Galapagos Islands

The main company offering cruises to the Galapagos Islands is Celebrity Cruises with the Celebrity Xpedition.

Chilean Fjords & Straits of Magellan

While a number of cruises call here as part of a longer itinerary, shorter cruises are available from Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aries and Santiago.
