Celebrity Reflection, the 5th and last of the Solstice Class ships, was floated out of the covered building dock at Meyer Werft in Germany on 12th August 2012.
The Solstice Class ships are extremely popular with cruisers, and started with Celebrity Solstice, followed by Celebrity Equinox, Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Silhouette and now Celebrity Reflection. They have brought a number of ‘firsts’ for the cruise industry, including the Lawn Club, with half an acre of real grass, the Hot Glass Show (on the first 3 ships), the Martini Bar, and Qsine which is a speciality restaurant offering an amazing dining experience.
Watch the following short video of the float out, and wonder at just how such a massive ship could be built inside a building. Then call GoCruise with Ian to find out why your next cruise should be on a Solstice Class ship with Celebrity Cruises.
