Titan Uniworld’s River Cruise Ships
While in Amsterdam in November 2012, I had the opportunity to visit a couple of the Uniworld 5 star Boutique river cruise ships. Both are featured in the Titan Uniworld brochures, and therefore benefit from the Titan VIP Home Departure Service. This means that you would receive home transfers to the airport or St Pancras and then transfers to the ship, with the same on the way home again.
While onboard you will receive free wine, beer and soft drinks with lunch and dinner, 24 hour speciality tea and coffee bar, free internet and Wi-Fi access. Uniworld is proud of the quality of their world class dining, with breakfast and lunch being extensive self-serve buffets, and dinner being a la carte dining with waiter service. All meals are open sitting, so you can dine when and with whom you wish.
There is also a programme of included shore excursions, during which you will have the use of state-of-the-art Quietvox headsets, so you won’t miss anything the tour guides tell you. There are also a number of bicycles and Nordic walking sticks available for complimentary use when going ashore.
Built in 2001, and re-modelled in 2010, the River Empress has a total of 67 cabins, which includes 4 suites, and she carries 134 guests.
The 63 cabins in categories 1-5 are 151 sq ft in size, and the 4 suites are 214 sq ft. Suites and category 1 cabins, which are all on Rhine deck, benefit from having French balconies. All cabins and suites have high quality linens, a choice of pillows, hair dryer, individually controlled air conditioning, and a flat screen infotainment system. You also have complimentary bottled water in the cabins which is replenished daily. The marble bathrooms feature L’Occitane en Provence bath and body products, plush towels, slippers and waffle bathrobes. The suites benefit from additional amenities, including a Nespresso coffee machine, iPod docking station and wine on arrival.
The public areas on the ship include several lounges and bars, a small library, restaurant, sundeck with chess and shuffleboard, fitness centre and sauna, Serenity River Spa, Boutique and a self-service laundry room.

The SS Antoinette was only built in 2011, has 80 cabins and carries 160 guests.
As you board the ship, and enter the 2 storey high lobby, you will see a large impressive Baccarat Chandelier. The design and décor onboard is reminiscent of the spirit of Versailles.
The 80 cabins are made up of 1 Royal Suite (391 sq ft), 8 suites (294 sq ft), 53 category 1-3 cabins (196 sq ft) and 18 category 4-5 cabins (163 sq ft), with all the suites having individually designed interiors. The suites and category 1 cabins on La Princesse deck each have a full balcony, while the category 2 and 3 cabins on La Duchesse deck each have a French balcony.
All cabins benefit from handcrafted Savoir of England beds, 100% Egyptian cotton linens, and also a pillow menu, as well as having a hair dryer, individual climate controlled air conditioning, flat screen infotainment system, safe, and daily replenished bottled water. The marble bathrooms are equipped with L’Occitane en Provence toiletries, plush towels and special towel warmers, and bathrobes. Guests who book a suite also receive a number of added benefits, including a butler service, unpacking and packing assistance, daily fruit and cookies, Nespresso coffee machine, fridge, iPod docking station, free laundry and shoe shine service.
Public rooms onboard include a number of lounges and bars, a restaurant, sun deck, fitness centre, Serenity River Spa, and even a cinema and heated indoor swimming pool.
